How to get the best Morehead City rental experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • To get the largest rental within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Morehead City restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain discounts for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Planning and picking the bestrental:

  • Choose your vacation dates and maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Sands Villa 519, Oceanfront Condo in Atlantic Beach, NC! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Morehead City vacation rental search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before booking the rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is right for your group.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or charges applied to your contract.
  • If there's a specific Morehead City attraction you are enamored with, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .

Additional considerations:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas during check in. Speak to the property manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to stimulate more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
