Tricks and tips to get the optimal rental experience:

Sticking to your spending budget:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • To find the most suitable rental for your budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Morehead City restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property management companies often offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Many property management companies supply Morehead City area visitor guides which include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Choosing the best rental:

  • First, have your family commit to a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Exceptionally Clean 3Br\/3Ba Oceanfront Condo in the Heart of the Crystal Coast has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking pages. If not, call the property owner before you book the property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what configuration is best for your trip.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, search for a property that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Does your family require particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental

More considerations:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few concerns.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Record any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on good feedback to inspire new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
