Booking the best Morehead City vacation property experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Morehead City area. Reserve your Morehead City rental home in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have money saving offers on nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Selecting and booking the bestrental home:

  • Start by choosing the best vacation week and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Ocean Reef 3-A1, Oceanfront Condo in Emerald Isle, NC! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before booking the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
  • If there's a specific Morehead City beach you are crazy about, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.

Know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Put the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Document any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on good ratings to compel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
