  • June, July, and August are high season in Emerald Isle. Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Morehead City area travel guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

  • First, have your group decide on a vacation week and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Pier Pointe 3B2, Oceanfront Condo, in Emerald Isle, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Morehead City vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before booking the rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's a certain Morehead City beach you are enamored with, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More tips for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you're out. Protect your property!
  • Note any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to propel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
