How to book the best Morehead City rental experience:

Find your best deal:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal NC. Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Often, management companies supply Morehead City area travel guides which include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to select the perfect vacation home in the Morehead City area:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and select a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Ocean Club 3 Bedroom Top Floor End Unit with Beautiful Views has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the property owner before reserving the property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If there's a particular Morehead City beach you crave, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or applied to your agreement.

More tips for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your visit, make note of any problem areas during arrival. Call the rental manager right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a excellent vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
