Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect rental experience:

Finding your best deal:

  • In the Morehead City area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Atlantic Beach. To get the best value, consider changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • Some owners offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Many management companies supply Morehead City area visitor guides that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Start by selecting potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. Waterfront, Poolside, King Bd, Ground-Floor, & WiFi has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the host before reserving the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Tips for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your . We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • To make sure that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, note any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Upon check-out, take a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to stimulate new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
