How to find the best Pine Knoll Shores vacation property experience:

Sticking to your spending budget:

  • Summertime is high season in Pine Knoll Shores. To get the best rental for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property managers usually offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have discounts for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

How to select the best rental in the Morehead City area:

  • First, have your family choose the best dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Suncatcher, Almost Oceanfront House in Pine Knoll Shores, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Morehead City rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before booking the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what is optimal for your vacation.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.

More considerations:

  • Add the owner's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • During check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few problems.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to inspire more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
