Tricks and tips to get the best rental home experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Booking your vacation home in the Spring or Fall is a good way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes.
  • The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Selecting and booking the bestrental home:

  • Choose your vacation week and max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Blue Water D105; Oceanview condo, Atlantic Beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before booking the property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out which bed configuration is right for your family.
  • If there's a certain Morehead City destination you love, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or could be applied to your agreement.

Advice for a smooth stay:

  • Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
  • To make sure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, note any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Be respectful. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to propel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
