Rental home tips and tricks:

When to visit & When to book:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Atlantic Beach. Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is an excellent way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby shops and restaurants.

Selecting the perfect rental home:

  • Select vacation dates and spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Double Queen-Unit 102 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before you book the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • Note any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute is filed.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to stimulate future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
