How to find the best Morehead City vacation home experience:

Find your perfect vacation home:

  • In the Morehead City area, The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in Atlantic Beach. To book the largest vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Morehead City restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have offers and deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Select your vacation week and maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Double Queen-Unit 102 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property owner before booking the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what is right for your family.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Request details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking

More tips for your visit:

  • Add the owner's phone number to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • During arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on good ratings to compel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
