Dank Burrito started as a Food Truck and a side project for Clarke Merrell – the Executive Chef and Owner of Morehead City’s acclaimed Circa 81 Tapas & Cocktaileria. But with a new location and a devout following, as well as accolades from both regional and national outlets, Dank Burrito now has a permanent home in a nice central locale along Arendell Street.
Winner of Mobile Cuisine's National Food Truck 2014 “Rookie of the Year” award, this former food truck turned restaurant specializes in - what else - burritos. But visitors expecting the traditional beans, rice and meat burrito varieties will be pleasantly surprised by the eclectic menu’s twist on the standard burrito definition. Specialties at Dank include the Cajun fried Mahi tacos, the prime rib cheesesteak burrito or bowl, and the pork belly burrito or bowl, which receives a bold burst of flavor thanks to the addition of kimchi, pickled veggies, and sweet Thai chili sauce. All of the offerings are nicely priced for modest budgets, and are the perfect post-beach meal for vacationers who adore coastal style with a distinctive Latin influence.
Already growing a wide fan base, (known as “Danksters,”) Dank Burrito is poised to be the coolest, and tastiest, addition to the Morehead City dining scene.
