Tips and Tricks to get the best vacation rental experience:

When to go & When to reserve a Emerald Isle rental home:

  • To get the best value, change your family's Morehead City vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • In the Morehead City area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers often offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Morehead City area visitors guide magazines which include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Start by choosing your a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Rx Pad, Soundfront House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before you book your home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine which bed configuration is right for your vacation.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or might be applied to your invoice.

More tips for your visit:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
  • Upon check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many difficulties.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
  • Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a terrific time? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
