Our top Morehead City vacation rental booking tips:

Sticking to your rental budget:

  • Summer time is high season in the Morehead City area. Book your Morehead City vacation in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Look for your local Morehead City visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain deals for local tours and attractions.

How to choose the best vacation home in the Morehead City area:

  • To start, have your group select a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Double Queen-Unit 201 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking websites. If not, email the property owner before you reserve the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs applied to your invoice.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your .
  • To make certain damages are not attributed to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas during check in. Contact the property manager immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
