Finding the best vacation home experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Morehead City area. Booking in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

How to choose and book the best Morehead City rental home:

  • Choose vacation dates and max budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Queen Suite-Unit 204 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the host before booking the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your vacation family.
  • Does your family require specific amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Get details on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners charge additional pet fees.

More considerations:

  • We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • To make certain damages aren't linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the host immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a wonderful stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
