Tips and Tricks for getting the best Atlantic Beach vacation rental experience:

Get the most from your budget:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To find the best value, consider shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Morehead City area visitor guides which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Filter your rental search:

  • First, have your group agree to a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. King Suite-Unit 205 - Island Inn Atlantic Beach has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the host before you reserve the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is best for your vacation family.
  • If there's a specific Morehead City destination you love, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property owners charge additional pet fees.

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
  • Upon arrival, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a terrific time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
