About this Property

  • Sleeps 8
  • 5 Bedrooms
  • 4 Bathrooms
  • Private vacation home
  • Approximately 2000 square feet

You will adore this classic beach home that sits right on the ocean with upstairs and downstairs porches affording amazing vistas and ocean access! It is comfortable and cozy, old school, with no frills, but with all that is needed for a fun stay at the beach in a super location.

There are 2 full baths with showers, a third bath with a claw foot tub, and another half bath.

The downstairs master has private bath and king bed. The upstairs has 4 bedrooms, 2 with king size beds. One of the king rooms also has 3 twins and is usually claimed by our grandchildren. The other 2 bedrooms upstairs have queen size beds. There is a full bath with shower upstairs as well as a half bath.
Additionally, there is an outdoor shower which we all seem to prefer in the summer. All linens are included, towels and sheets, as well as a outfitted kitchen, including mixer, blender, processor, toaster, coffee maker, pots/pans and cooking silverware. There are games, books and puzzles that tend to accumulate over the years. Bikes, beach games/toys, rafts etc camp out in the basement/garage. The washer/dryer are in the basement as well. Most of our time is spent on the porch and front deck, overlooking the ocean. There is most often a excellent breeze and always a spectacular view. A gas grille can be rolled out of the garage for grilling. A second refrigerator is in the basement which comes in handy for additional drinks, overflow food and a little additional freezer space.
This home has been in our family a very long time and our memories from all the years are rich. It is an old classic, which we appreciate, and very comfortable, inviting you to relax and savor your stay at the beach. You can feel the appreciate when you walk in the door. The location is super, in a very friendly, family aligned neighborhood. Conveniently, groceries, eateries and stores are all within a mile.

Rental booking tips and tricks:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Summer is high season in the Morehead City area. To book the largest rental home within budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers frequently offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Morehead City visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain money saving offers on nearby shops and restaurants.

Planning, selecting, and booking your Morehead City rental:

  • Start by choosing trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Classic beach house right on the ocean. has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before reserving the rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your trip.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Record any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few problems.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
