Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Morehead City vacation home experience:

Sticking to a budget:

  • Summertime is high season in Emerald Isle. Booking in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property management companies often offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Often, management companies supply Morehead City area visitor guide magazines which include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Planning and choosing your Morehead City rental home:

  • Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. BEAUTIFUL OCEANFRONT with gorgeous views! 2 king beds, 3 queen beds and 4 twins. has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible online. Otherwise, call the property manager before reserving the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
  • Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

More considerations:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • During check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on good feedback to inspire more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
