Welcome to the Flippin' Reward. This is our families personal beach home which we hope will feel like home to you as well! We have the home outfitted with everything you should need... JUST BRING CLOTHES & BATHING SUITS. We are located in the ideal location! We are steps away from the Sound and the public boat access ( there is a great park for the kids attached to the boat access). We are a 3 min. walk to the beach. PLUS we have spent the beginning of the Summer putting in our new pool! Ideal for a family pool day. The home is about a mile away from the hussel and bussel of town so you can savor the peaceful but close enough to run to the store if you need anything. (or have it delivered. Our Instacart shoppers are delightful on the island) We are a kid friendly home as we have 3 modest kids that appreciate this home as well. All of the bathrooms are freshly remodeled. We hope you treat and adore this home as much as our family has!

Please note that our home is on a steep hill. Anyone with mobility problems please reach out so we can determine if our home is a good fit for you.

Strategies to get the optimal vacation rental experience:

Finding your perfect rental home:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is high season in the Morehead City area. To book the most suitable rental home within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Some property managers offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain discounts for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

How to select the best vacation rental in the Morehead City area:

  • Choose vacation week and max budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. New Single Family Whole Home Rental with BRAND NEW POOL on the Island! has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking websites. If not, email or call the property owner before you reserve the rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what is optimal for your vacation group.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's an individual Morehead City attraction you simply love, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Additional considerations:

  • Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • During arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • At departure, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a excellent vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
