Tips and Tricks to get the very best Morehead City rental home experience:

Get the most from your budget:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • To book the largest rental within budget, we recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
  • Property managers usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local Morehead City visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have coupons for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Filter your search:

  • Choose your dates and max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Ocean Club G304, Oceanfront Condo in Indian Beach, NC! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If not, contact the property manager before booking the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what is optimal for your group.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • If there's a specific Morehead City attraction you love, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.

Tips to have a great stay:

  • Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Upon check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a terrific stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
