How to book the best Atlantic Beach rental experience:

Finding the best rental value:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Atlantic Beach. To get the best value, consider shifting your family's Morehead City vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Begin by selecting vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Dog Friendly Oceanside Home Near Public Beach Ramp at Atlantic Beach, NC has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property management company before booking the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
  • If your family is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

More considerations:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • To make sure damages are not linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas during check in. E-mail the property manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a great vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
