Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Morehead City rental experience:

When to reserve a Morehead City rental & When to go:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Morehead City area. To find the largest vacation home within your budget, we recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Filter your search:

  • Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. The Cozy Bear Bungalow has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before you book your home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Tips for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your .
  • During arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few issues.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to compel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
