Finding the best Morehead City vacation home experience:

How to get the best value:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Morehead City area. Booking your Morehead City vacation home in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
  • In the Morehead City area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local Morehead City area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides have coupons for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Start by selecting a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Southwinds A17 - 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Oceanfront Condo has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly available online. Otherwise, email the property owner before you reserve the home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's an individual Morehead City destination you are enamored with, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.

More considerations:

  • Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make sure damages are not attributed to your family's visit, note any problem areas during arrival. Call the property manager immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many concerns.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good feedback to compel more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
