Tips to get the very best vacation property experience:

When to reserve a Morehead City rental home & When to go:

  • The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • To find the best value, try changing your family's Morehead City vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Morehead City area visitor guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Choose a group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Sound Of The Sea East 125, Oceanfront Condo in Emerald Isle, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you book the home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is right for your vacation group.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or may be applied to your invoice.
  • Are you looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

More tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • During check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a wonderful time? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
