Tricks and tips to get the best Morehead City rental home experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • To find the most suitable rental home within your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Morehead City restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property managers often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain coupons for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Selecting and booking the bestvacation home:

  • Begin by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. Seaside Villas, 3 story, elevator, garage, 4 bedrooms, 3.5 bath. Sleeps 8-10 has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before you book the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge additional pet fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • At Check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to stimulate more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
