Tips and Tricks to get the optimal Morehead City vacation property experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • In the Morehead City area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Morehead City visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Choosing and booking your Morehead City rental:

  • Select your vacation week and maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Seas the Day in Atlantic Beach, NC has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or applied to your contract.
  • If there's an individual Morehead City beach you love, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.

Advice for a wonderful stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Upon arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a great stay? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
