Vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

Get the most from your rental home budget:

  • To find the best value, try changing your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
  • In the Morehead City area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local Morehead City area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Finding the perfect vacation rental:

  • Select vacation dates and max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. POOL and beach access steps away from driveway! has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is normally available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before booking your rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish which bed configuration is optimal for your group.
  • If there's an individual Morehead City beach you are enamored with, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.

Tips for your stay:

  • We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make certain that damages aren't linked to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. Call the host right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
  • Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on great ratings to propel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
