How to get the best rental experience:

Finding your perfect rental home:

  • In the Morehead City area, The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Summer is high season in the Morehead City area. To find the most suitable rental within budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have money saving offers on local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Selecting and booking the rightrental home:

  • Choose your vacation dates and budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Pet Friendly, Ocean Front, 3 Ensuite BR! has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Morehead City rentals search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you reserve your rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Advice for a fantastic stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of problems.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • During arrival, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great reviews to inspire new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
