Emerald Isle vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

When to visit & When to reserve a Morehead City rental home:

  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Summertime is high season in the Morehead City area. To find the best vacation home within budget, we suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have deals for nearby shops and restaurants.

How to select the perfect rental:

  • Select a group lead, choose your dates, and choose a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Panoramic Ocean and Sound Views Fantasea Cottage on Emerald Isle has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available online. Otherwise, contact the property management company before reserving the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .

Know before you go:

  • Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few problems.
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • During check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a great time? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
