Finding the best vacation home experience:

Finding your perfect vacation home:

  • In the Morehead City area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To find the largest vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain offers and deals for nearby tours and attractions.

Selecting the best rental home in Emerald Isle:

  • Choose your vacation dates and spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Relax at this classic beach cottage. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the host before reserving your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few problems.
  • Lock your rental while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • To make certain damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the property manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to propel more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
