Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Emerald Isle rental home experience:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To book the largest vacation home for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Morehead City restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Many property management companies supply Morehead City area travel guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Make a plan and choose a perfect Morehead City rental:

  • Begin by selecting trip dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. OCEANFRONT home with breathtaking views East! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before booking your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
  • If there's an individual Morehead City destination you crave, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.

Have a great stay:

  • Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
  • To make sure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, note any problem areas upon check in. message the rental manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific resource to find the best local spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to propel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
