Vacation rental tips and tricks:

When to go & When to reserve a rental home:

  • To find the most suitable rental within your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Morehead City attractions. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Hosts sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Often, property management companies supply Morehead City area travel guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning, selecting, and booking the perfectvacation home:

  • Start by having your family commit to a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Steps to the beach - Dogs Welcome & Fenced in yard! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible online. Otherwise, email the host before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If there's a particular Morehead City destination you are enamored with, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your .
  • Document any issues with the property during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peace. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to inspire more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
