How to find the best Morehead City vacation rental experience:

Finding the best value:

  • In the Morehead City area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Summer months are high season in the Morehead City area. To book the largest rental home within budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at Morehead City restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Property managers frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Look for your local Morehead City visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines have deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Start by choosing the best vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Beautiful private beach house with access to sound has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before you book the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

More tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • At Check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a terrific stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
