Sensational DIRECT OCEAN FRONT duplex a few hundred yards from the only Fishing Pier on the west end of the island. Both Whithaven 1 & Whithaven 2 are owned by the Whitley family. The Oceanana Pier is just steps away from 'Whithavens' additional huge deck. Each side has 3 BR's (king, queen and 2 twins) and 2 1/2 baths plus an additional enormous L shaped couch. The kids appreciate sleeping on the couch too so everybody can appreciate themselves. (dog friendly too with additional pet fee).

During our covid period remodel, the whole unit was repainted, new ceilings and more upgrades plus increased parking up front from renovating our entry enclosure is sure to please. We use lock boxes for keys so no in person contact is standard for our units. We have an outside enclosed shower with HOT and cold water to rinse off after the beach or to use for your everyday shower (which I highly recommend and great for family pets too).

As an added feature we freshly installed a UVC germicidal light in the ductwork to kill any viruses or mold to help keep the air clean and provide help for allergy suffers.

We provide pretty much everything you need to walk into the unit and savor your stay. We provide linens, bath towels, paper goods when available (restock if you can and bring some just in case), completely outfitted kitchen including many spices and nearly everything you need other than food and your favorite beverages. We have a hammock, beach chairs, beach toys, outside grille (replaced in 2022) and hotel grade deck and lounge chairs. We can't promise sunshine but the weather is usually better than at home. Bring your own beach towels and toiletries and you will be ready for a calming vacation.

2019 & 2020 updates include new floor, new paint, new refrigerator, new dishwasher, new linen service included and our massive deck is ready for you. Also, our new cleaning service is focused on providing the best possible service for each and every stay with enhanced cleaning procedures per 2022 guidelines.

We have a entirely supplied kitchen with various spices, zip lock bags, aluminum foil etc. are standard. Spare paper products (when available) are in the bottom drawer beside the refrigerator. Please replace what you use if you can for the next guests.

Let's face it, you come to the beach to enjoy the beach so you might as well be RIGHT ON THE OCEAN with a massive deck made for 'appreciating' all the beach ambiance you can. While we make the inside as comfortable as we can with TV's, nice beds and full kitchen, it's really about being outside at the beach.

That's why we tore down our old deck and replaced it with a 3 level deck. Each side has their own 3rd level upstairs deck off of each master bedroom with a privacy wall in the middle. It's ideal for working on your tan in private or enjoying the sunsets. The main living area has an additional sizable deck with a bar top constructed around each side of the privacy wall. This gives you privacy when you want it but makes it painless to enjoy your family and friends outside whenever you want. We provide plenty of chairs and picnic tables so you can choose to eat outside or simply enjoy your favorite drink (or 2 or 3) while watching the waves crash on the beach or watching the fishermen on the pier. The additional wide walkway (ideal for strolling hand in hand with someone special) takes you down the steps to the lower deck that is ideal for some additional privacy or can be used as a smoking section away from the main unit.

The ground level has picnic tables and a gas grille for each side. When you come in off of the beach if you feel like an outdoor shower each side has their own covered and enclosed shower underneath the deck with HOT and cold water. Rinse off your surfboard (one of the prime surfing spots on the whole Island), your pets or rinse off the sand from the supplied body boards and beach chairs.

The garage is ideal for storing your bicycles or additional outdoor items like kayaks, paddle boards or parking a car. Dart board and corn hole give you something to do on those rainy days. Whithaven really is a special place. Please book your stay and become one of the Whithaven clan.

If Whithaven 2 is unavailable for your dates the other side of the property may be avalable or book both for your group. Whithaven 1 (666413) is the sister side of the duplex and also is on Vacation Rental By Owner/HomeAway. If you can't find it send me an e-mail and I will check the status as well. If you have any other questions please e-mail, text or call Lee.

*** Please note linen and bath towel service IS supplied in the base rate. Beds are King, Queen and Twins. ***

Parking for 2 or 3 cars is normal but if you have greater parking needs please contact the owner to discuss prior to booking.

Finding the best Atlantic Beach vacation property experience:

Sticking to your rental home budget:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Booking your vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is a great way to save on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers typically offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Morehead City area visitors guides that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • First, have your family decide on the best dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. DIRECT OCEANFRONT Duplex with large 3 level deck next to Oceanana Fishing Pier. has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before booking the rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what is optimal for your vacation group.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the property manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • At departure, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a fantastic time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
