Wallet-Friendly Tips

  • Find the official tourism bureau where you want to vacation. Most official tourism bureaus supply printed travel guides with savings for rental homes, restaurants and attractions. Look for these magazines and coupon books, since this allows vacationers to experience those fantastic activities at a sometimes considerable discounted.
  • Flexible about when you might travel? Shoulder seasons offer impressive discounts.
  • Are you a armed forces veteran? Quite a few property management companies provide rate reductions to vets and active-duty forces. Be sure to check with property manager to see if your vacationing group is eligible for a markdown.
  • Is there a specific activity you are mainly getting excited about ? You will definitely get the best value from a home that most directly suits your ideal trip setting, regardless if it costs a bit extra.
  • Think about investing in trip insurance with your rental agreement. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the basic stay cost, provides vacationers reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed due to medical-related emergencies or storms, in addition to ensuing extra hurricane evacuation costs or expenses, such as an unanticipated hotel room stay or additional gasoline.

General Rental Information

Many people are shocked to learn how many vacation rentals can be found in Morehead City. Rental accommodations have gained in popularity with the rise of worldwide research sites like Tripadvisor and VRBO.

Virtually all rental properties in Morehead City are privately operated and many are represented by well-known local property management agencies. Vacation rental management companies leverage scale, equipment and knowledge to provide simple and easy operational management on behalf of the owner..

Below are great tips and suggestions to help you understand the rental search and booking process.

Finding and booking the best rental:

Before you book "*Great Stay!* Emerald Isle Bungalow One Minute Walk to Both Beach & Sound!", examine our short collection of points to consider.

Start Your Search Early

Morehead City rentals start booking very early. To assure the most desirable choice of vacation rentals, we recommend searching and reserving your Morehead City getaway 6-Twelve months in advance, whenever feasible. Holiday reunions can be a great time for groups to plot their Summer holiday escapes..

Select your Area and Vacation Week

Oftentimes, the toughest portion of planning your trip is deciding on where to search, and when. When the big decisions are resolved, the rest is much easier.

Pick a Size

Take a head count. How many beds and bedrooms will you need? Bear in mind that a lot of homes list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in the living room. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your family. Generally rental home listings will summarize each of the unit's specific bedrooms and mattresses.

Establish Your Budget

Will your selected vacation property suit your budget during that prime Summer week? Make certain to get cost-sharing commitments from travel companions before booking a pricey rental property. Most rental agreements require a single person to be liable for the entire reservation.

Create a list of "Wishes" and "Requirements"

What amenities is your group searching for? Do you only want a property with a pool, jacuzzi or beach volleyball court? Do you wish to be far from the crowds, or near a city setting? Are sheets included with the rental contract, or do you need to take your own? Make a list of priority features to guide narrow your search.

Special Considerations

Do certain people in your crew have special needs? If wheel chair accessibility, elevators, pool lifts or other special equipment is required, include that into your search. Nearly all rental home postings include a list of amenities.

Paws-Friendly, Please

Make sure you include your furry family members. Animal guidelines are different at each property. Study descriptions thoroughly. A number of constraints may possibly dismiss a prospective rental. Ensure that you study descriptions and contracts carefully. Charges may apply when animals are added.

Start your Search

A number of internet resources exist to match guests with rental owners.. In addition to Homeaway, VRBO and Tripadvisor, we suggest searching Google for "Morehead City local rental homes" for local vacation rental management companies. Local property management companies proudly offer a top-quality vacation experience.

Negotiate

Re-read the description to confirm the vacation home has everything that you need. If something is missing, the vacation rental management company might know of similar properties that fit your style and budget..

Although not true for all rental properties, many property owners and property managers will make a deal on rates. If they are hesitant to budge on a highly-desirable week, try getting an extra night. Your best prospects for a lower rate will be switching to an off-season week.

Read the Entire Contract

Read the entire agreement and make certain you fully understand who is responsible for:

  • Electric bills
  • WIFI Access
  • Long Distance Calls
  • Pool Heating
  • Pay Per View Movies
  • Housekeeping
  • Trash Pickup (and which day?)
  • Maintenance policies
  • Check in & Check Out Key Exchange
  • Parking Space

In addition to the regular fee, vacationers must pay state taxes when booking "*Great Stay!* Emerald Isle Bungalow One Minute Walk to Both Beach & Sound!", as well as any other fees which may be mandatory depending on their situation, including a dog charge, earlier check-in or later check-out fee, or a pool heating fee for private pool usage during the autumn or spring months.

Cancellation Policies

Ensure that you are familiar with the cancellation policy before booking. You will probably be offered trip insurance. Trip insurance, which typically costs between 1% - 5% of the standard rental price, provides guests with reimbursement of their vacation costs (and subsequent rental home costs) for any nights missed a result of personal medical emergencies or storms, and additionally hurricane evacuation expenses, such as a unforeseen hotel stay or additional gas.

Reserve It

Once you feel you've identified "the one", start the booking process. You will probably be asked to submit a security deposit at time of reservation.

Get Contact Info

Be sure to get the property manager's contact phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. We suggest keeping the contact's information in your phone and wallet.

Congratulations on booking your rental home! You're on your way to a fantastic vacation!

During your Stay

  • Photograph at your arrival. To ensure that no damages are associated with your visit, create a record of any trouble spots of the rental. If you discover damages, or if fixes are required call the property manager right away.
  • Ask questions. If you have any ambiguity about vehicle parking, policies of the property, house access, swimming pool operation, etc... we recommend you ask the rental manager immediately. A quick phone call eliminates many complications.
  • Remember to be a good next-door neighbor. . Remember the golden rule and treat others the same way you'd like to be treated by visitors next to your primary residence.
  • Ask a local. Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best nachos, have a great date night, or the best places for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the vacation rental locked up while you are away, just like you would at home.

At the end of your stay

  • Make sure you've packed all your personal belongings. Sweep every room in the home for left-behind possessions. Check bathrooms, the garage, kitchen cabinets, backyards, the pool area, and anywhere else your personal property might "hide".
  • Be sure to walk through the rental one last time and look for property damage. If possible, do this walk-out inspection with the property manager present. If the property manager is not available, make certain you take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • How do you feel about your choice? Nearly all rental property web sites request feedback after your stay . Rental owners and property managers will thank you for favorable recommendations. If anything was unacceptable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the property was not as described, you'll want to note that in your critique.

Learn from your Stay

Hold a debrief with your traveling companions. How did they feel about the rental choice? Ideally everything turned out to be outstanding and you're ready to reserve the rental home for next season. Maybe the property wasn't perfect, and you'll better understand how to perfect your search for the next time.
