Tips and Tricks for getting the best Atlantic Beach rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • To get the best value, change your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Make a plan and pick the right Morehead City vacation home:

  • Start by choosing your the best vacation week and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Updated 3rd-Floor Home With Courtyard & Partial Beach View, Shared Pools\/Hot Tub has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the host before reserving the vacation home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If there's an individual Morehead City attraction you crave, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.

Advice for a smooth stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the host right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a fantastic time? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
