How to find the best vacation rental experience:

How to get the best value:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in the Morehead City area. Book your Morehead City rental in Fall or Spring months to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property management companies offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Morehead City area visitor guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Finding the perfect rental in the Morehead City area:

  • Choose your dates and budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Updated 3rd-Floor Home With Courtyard & Partial Beach View, Shared Pools/Hot Tub has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available online. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If there's a certain Morehead City destination you crave, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Request information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Document any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Protect your property!
  • On check-out day, take a walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a great stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
