Tips to get the optimal vacation home experience:

When to visit Beaufort & When to book:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer time is high season in Beaufort. Booking your Morehead City vacation home in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property management companies often offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Morehead City area travel guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and picking your Morehead City vacation home:

  • Start by selecting your the best vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Incredible Views - Magnificent Sunsets\nI Little Piece of Heaven\n has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before booking the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is right for your vacation family.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

During your stay:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. Call the property manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
