How to get the best vacation property experience:

Finding your best deal:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in Emerald Isle. Book your rental property in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Often, property management companies supply Morehead City area visitors guides that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and picking a perfectrental:

  • Start by having your group decide on dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Ocean front and close to town - Coast Guard Rd. has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available online. Otherwise, call the host before you reserve the rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If there's an individual Morehead City beach you are crazy about, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or may be applied to your invoice.

Tips for your stay:

  • Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Upon arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a wonderful time? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
