Booking the best Pine Knoll Shores rental home experience:

Finding the best rental value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Morehead City area. To find the best value, change your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers frequently offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have offers and deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

How to choose and book a perfectrental home:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and select a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Sweet Dreams, Oceanfront Home in Pine Knoll Shores, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Morehead City rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before you book the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

Tips to have a smooth stay:

  • Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • During check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a terrific vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
