Finding the best Emerald Isle rental experience:

Finding your best deal:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • To get the best value, try shifting your family's Morehead City trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Some property management companies offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local Morehead City area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guides contain deals for nearby shops and restaurants.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Sound of the Sea 303W - 1BR Ocean Front - Just Renovated!! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Morehead City rental home search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before booking the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • If your group is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's a certain Morehead City attraction you are crazy about, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Store the owner's information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your visit, note any problem areas upon check in. Contact the host immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on good ratings to propel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
