How to get the best Beaufort vacation property experience:

Find your best deal:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in Beaufort. Reserve your Morehead City rental property in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Many property management companies supply Morehead City area visitors guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Choosing and booking the perfectvacation home:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and select a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Riverside escape with kayaks, covered deck, updated interior, W/D, & central AC has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is generally available online. If not, email or call the property management company before reserving your home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
  • If there's a particular Morehead City attraction you are enamored with, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or may be applied to your invoice.

Additional considerations:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Note any damages to the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be respectful. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a excellent time? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
