Tips and Tricks to get the best Morehead City vacation property experience:

When to visit Pine Knoll Shores & When to reserve a Morehead City rental home:

  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Morehead City area. Booking your Morehead City vacation home in the Spring or Fall is a great way to save on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Often, property management companies supply Morehead City area travel guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Pine Knoll Townes 65, Almost Oceanfront Townhouse in Pine Knoll Shores, NC! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Morehead City rental home search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is normally available online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve the rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.

Advice for your stay:

  • Add the owner's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • To make sure damages aren't linked to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the host immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to compel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
