Tips for getting the perfect Morehead City vacation rental experience:

Sticking to a rental budget:

  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are high season in Emerald Isle. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Often, property management companies supply Morehead City area visitor guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Selecting the best rental home in Emerald Isle:

  • Select vacation week and spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Oceanfront corner 3 Bedroom 2 Bath first floor condo has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the host before you book the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.
  • Does your group require special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
  • Note any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if damages are assessed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to compel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
