Tips to get the best Morehead City vacation rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are high season in Emerald Isle. To get the best value, try changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local Morehead City visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

How to select the best vacation home in Emerald Isle:

  • Select a group leader, select your vacation week, and select a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Golf cart kayaks paddle board launch pet friendly private sunset sunrise gated has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If not, contact the property manager before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what is right for your vacation family.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Are you looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many problems.
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. Call the host right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on good feedback to propel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
