Strategies to get the very best vacation rental experience:

Getting the most from your rental home budget:

  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer time is high season in the Morehead City area. Book your rental property in Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Some owners offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local Morehead City visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have deals for local tours and attractions.

Make a plan and choose the best Morehead City rental home:

  • Begin by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Lovely 1 BR with King bed Apt 2 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually available online. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before you book your home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what bed configuration is optimal for your family.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges might be applied to your contract.
  • If there's a certain Morehead City attraction you are crazy about, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .

More tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of problems.
  • Lock your rental while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, note any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the host right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a excellent vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
