Tips to get the optimal Morehead City vacation home experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Atlantic Beach. Book your vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Many management companies supply Morehead City area visitor guide magazines which include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Select vacation dates and max budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Ground-Level, Oceanfront Condo with Beach Access, WiFi, W\/D & Shared Pool has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Morehead City rentals search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If not, email or call the property owner before booking your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what configuration is optimal for your family.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • Upon check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to drive more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
