Our top Morehead City rental home booking tips:

Finding your perfect vacation home:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Morehead City area. To get the largest vacation home within budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Morehead City attractions.
  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Look for your local Morehead City visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have money saving offers on local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Planning, selecting, and booking your prefect Morehead City rental home:

  • Begin by choosing your trip dates and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Double Queen-Unit 105 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before you reserve your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what configuration is suitable for your group.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or applied to your contract.

Know before you go:

  • Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to stimulate more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
