Atlantic Beach rental property booking tips and tricks:

Get the best value:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal NC. To get the best value, consider shifting your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Booking websites usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Morehead City area travel guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to pick the perfect vacation rental in Atlantic Beach:

  • Start by selecting your trip dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Dog-friendly corner townhome with deck & patio - walk to the beach & town has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is almost always available online. If not, reach out to the property manager before you book your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what is optimal for your family.
  • If there's a particular Morehead City attraction you love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.

Advice for a great stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • During check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of concerns.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
  • Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to propel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
