How to get the best vacation rental experience:

Get the most from your rental home budget:

  • In the Morehead City area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Reserve your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local Morehead City visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Make a plan and pick a perfect Morehead City rental:

  • Select a group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. BRING YOUR BOAT - ATLANTIC BEACH/PINE KNOLLS SHORES 4 BR SOUNDFRONT HOME has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible online. Otherwise, email the property owner before reserving the vacation property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a specific Morehead City attraction you long to visit, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Tips to have a smooth stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • To make certain damages aren't linked to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the rental manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to drive new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
