Our top Vacation rental booking tips:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • In the Morehead City area, The sooner your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property management companies typically offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local Morehead City visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides have offers and deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

How to choose and book the best Morehead City vacation home:

  • Begin by selecting potential vacation weeks and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. BRING YOUR BOAT - ATLANTIC BEACH/PINE KNOLLS SHORES 4 BR SOUNDFRONT HOME has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before you book the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what bed configuration is right for your vacation.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

Have a wonderful stay:

  • We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a great stay? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
