Vacation rental tips:

How to get the best rental value:

  • In the Morehead City area, The sooner your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Reserve your rental in Fall or Spring months to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local Morehead City area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

How to select the best rental home in Pine Knoll Shores:

  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Just before checking out, take a walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to drive new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
