Tips for getting the perfect Atlantic Beach vacation rental experience:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Morehead City area. To book the largest rental home within budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Morehead City restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Morehead City visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

How to choose the perfect vacation rental:

  • Choose vacation dates and budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. A Place At The Beach III , One-bedroom Unit has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you book your rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
  • If there's a certain Morehead City beach you long to visit, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

Tips to have a wonderful stay:

  • Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Note any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a great vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
