Getting the best Morehead City vacation property experience:

Get the most from your spending budget:

  • Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
  • Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Morehead City area visitor guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to pick the perfect rental home in the Morehead City area:

  • Begin by selecting your trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Ocean Point in A Place At The Beach, your oceanfront resort destination! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Morehead City vacation rental search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before you reserve the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
  • Is your family looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone.
  • To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, record any problem areas during check in. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a fantastic stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
