Getting the best vacation home experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Booking in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Morehead City vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Many property management companies supply Morehead City area travel guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Morehead City area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Selecting the perfect rental:

  • Select your vacation dates and budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Third-Floor Condo in Oceanfront Building w\/Shared Pools & Hot Tub, Free WiFi has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before you reserve the property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what bed configuration is best for your vacation family.
  • Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or charges applied to your agreement.

More tips for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
  • To make certain that damages are not attributed to your visit, note any problem areas when you arrive. Call the host right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
  • When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a excellent stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
